what have I been doing?

Chris called me this morning. “I linked to you today,” she said. “So you might want to post something.”

“Meh,” I said. “Maybe. If anything good happens today.”

Nothing happened. Seriously.

Wade and I are watching The Real Housewives of New York right now; it is truly mesmerizing. Like a black hole of stupidity. Really wealthy overdressed stupidity. It is also the most interesting thing that has happened all day.

I would look away, but Life in the Fab Lane isn’t on tonight. I love me some Kimora Lee Simmons. Seriously. All kinds of things happen to Kimora Lee. Also she owns 400 pairs of jeans, not a single one of which EVER makes an appearance on her show. Go figure.

Today is Tuesday, which means that I am all over the Internet (because good lord are you still here? nothing to see! move along! watching trashy Bravo reality TV! sheesh). At Work It Mom! I’m asking what you wear to work at home; at BlogHer I’m wondering what inspires you to get dressed up.  And at AisleDash I’m speculating about the marriages and tattoos of various celebrities. It’s a tough job but someone has to do it.

And now I have to get back to the Real Housewives.  I sense some drahmah coming.  God knows there was none of that in my day.

I’ll bet Kimora Lee had dramah today.  And 400 pairs of jeans.

  1. Kimora Lee makes me want to throw shoes an the t.v.

  2. I so want to hate KLS, but I kind of love her.

  3. My word, Susan–how do you do it? It wears me out just thinking of all that writing!

  4. I linked to you too. Be prepared for all 35 of my readers to come to your site as well. SO SORRY to inundate you like that.

  5. I’m into The Real Housewives of NYC too. (Shhhhh . . . I even have it on TiVo.) It’s what junior high would be like if 13-year-old girls had obscene amounts of money.

  6. The Real Housewives shows are so frustrating. And yet, I can’t look away.

  7. OMG…I love Real Housewives. It is the best train wreck of a reality show EVER! I can’t help but get sucked in. The fight between Ramona and Jill last night was fantastic. It was all the childhood drama of the 6th grade lunch table…but with “adults”.

  8. You’re on my blogroll too. But it’s a bit buried. And my traffic is a little low for my taste. Still you might get a hit every couple of weeks.

  9. So you’re saying me calling and crying into the phone isn’t exciting, eh?

  10. Oh my, I totally got sucked into that Real Housewives of NYC show too (didn’t see the beginning). My excuse is that I am ragingly sick and was too weak to change the channel once I started watching it.

  11. I was getting a pedicure monday (I only get one a month, so don’t no one thinking I live the life over here) and figured I would flip through this here Vanity Fair (I think). I came upon an article about the price of fashion. These different people in the know were complaining about the prices of high fashion and telling everyone how to get by with spending less. The thing is they were thinking that a pair of (insert great well known, except to me, designer here) shoes were a steal at just over $1500. The problem comes that they were spending only $900 on those shoes last year. Oh how prices have affected us all.

Yeah, I think my blog would be way more interesting if I had these kinds of problems. And that my friend is why I watch RHWNY and Ms. Simmons. You find your excitment where ever you can get it. At least, I don’t have to worry about who I was sitting behind in carpool today, because I don’t know any of them, anyway.

  12. Can I say something really witchy about the Real Housewives of New York? Why do they all have such bad hair? They go on and on about all their millions and their husband billions and how their kids get everything they want, yet they can’t find a good hairdresser in the area? Luann and Jill have ok hair, but the rest of them look like they combed it with a mixer!

(That last comment made me throw up a bit in my mouth because I sound just like my mother! oy vey!!)

  13. Paula, I was thinking the SAME THING about the hair! Thank you!

I feel validated in my bitchiness. God I love you people.

  14. I watched Real Housewives for the first time last night! It’s HILARIOUS. The blond one who took her daughter to the talent agency (Ramona, I think?) has had wayyy too much eye work done. They’re migrating to the side of her head, and she looks like a pterodactyl. And yes, the hair of the housewives is uniformly hideous.

OH, and did you see the dress that Brooklyn Accented Brunette Housewife ended up getting when she was shopping with her mom? It was so tacky and not age-appropriate at all. (I did, however, sort of love her crazy mother.)

I’m going to stop now, because this is a slippery slope, and I could literally talk about this train wreck of a show all day.

  15. Now I’m curious about RHNYC - damn you people!

  16. I just set the TIVO so that we will never miss another episode.

Maybe we will have to have some recap posts. Just so no one misses one single MOMENT of the drahmah. Or the bad hair.

  17. As you probably know if you read my blog, I love me some Kimora Lee. She’d be my celebrity best friend but we’d out scream each other too often for it to really work. I’m also loving me some Posh Spice.

I have started watching the Real Housewives of NY. I can’t STAND the ones from Orange County. Nothing from there interests me anyway, except for the House of Blues in Anaheim, and we have one in Hollywood too, so who needs that one?

However for the ladies from New York, I do like Luann a little. Jill is ok but her daughter drives me nuts. I want to slap the taste out of the mouths of both Ramona and Alex (the blondes). The single girl Bethenny is ok, she makes me laugh with some of her comments.

Um, no I’m not addicted. I swear. What makes you ask?

  18. OMG! I was watching The NYC Housewives Show last night!! They make me want to SCREAM!! Talk about nothing on Tuesday nights and here I am sitting in bed watching this show!! After living in NYC for 7 years… these women make me want to never go back. I didn’t know anyone like that… at least not that caliber! I sat on the couch last night pissed off I was even watching… ! I have to say, I’ve been a lurker for awhile… LOVE your blog!! I’m de-lurking!! :)
    Best,
    Audrey

  19. And I thought I was the only one watching Real Housewives! I have to admit I’m not loving the show as much as the California version (probably because I haven’t bonded with anyone yet…), and yet I can’t “not” watch it.

I agree with the hair comments (dry and brittle looking) - and I absolutely cannot watch the blonde woman whose pretentious husband is always fawning over her - her teeth drive me insane.

  20. OMG thank god i’m not the only one watching this show! who’s the skinny one who’s attached at the hip to her husband? who then was wearing a thong (!!!) at the beach. she’s the one that literally makes me scream at my tv. but it’s certainly addictive.

  21. I think I love all Bravo shows. They seem to know just want I like! But I really do go through mixed emotions watching RealHosewives…(ha! I typed HOSEwives and I’m not changing it!)First, I try to decide who’s the biggest bitch, because, WOW, those are some bitchy women. Then,we meet Jill’s horrible mother and I think, well that explains a lot right there! And I felt sorry for her. Then I’m back to thinking how horrible they all are. It’s amazing their kids aren’t much worse. But, yes, Ramona’s hair is crazy bad. Like, skeevy bad. And I would desperately love to see these “magazines” that Jill is so frequently pictured in. Also! Did any of them marry for love? ‘Cause I’m having trouble seeing it.
