Steve Madden silk ballet flats, worn for a Friday playdate with Shana
There should be some rule that NaBloPoMo should NEVER start on a Thursday; I mean, here it is, day TWO, and I’m already reduced to posting pictures because I’ve got nothing to tell you.
NOTHING! Do you hear me? Nothing at all.
My dining room furniture came today — the table and the sideboard. So now we’re half decorated; we have the new sofas but the old ottoman (which doesn’t match AT ALL) and the new table and the old chairs (again with the not matching). Our television is precariously balanced on a wee little bench that we swiped from our bedroom, because a truckload of questionably legal Mexicans came to my house on Tuesday night and hauled away the big armoire.
They also took the old green sleeper sofa. Charlie stood at the door and watched as they drove away, and then said, “I threw up on that sofa. Bye bye sofa!”
Today we had a playdate with Shana and her girls. Moira stalked Henry around, calling out, “Boy! BOY! Come back here!” He served her a snack and talked to her as though she were seven and not three. Because he’s a ladies man like that.

Charlie, Celia, and Moira, who were THIS CUTE for the entire playdate
Charlie preferred to snuggle up in a big chair with both girls. Because he too is a ladies man. Near the end of our afternoon, Charlie totally wiped out in the driveway and skinned his knees, and while he was sitting in my lap being pitiful, Celia came and told him about how she skinned her knee at school and how it hurt and how she cried. And she talked right to him, in a totally sympathetic way, like they were the only two people in the room. And tonight he told Wade all about it
And that was my day. The end. Jesus it’s going to be a long month.

Oh, how I wish P and I could have a playdate with you and your boys. She’d love them. She knows how to appreciate a really nice boy.

Silly Susan, saying she has nothing to talk about. I enjoyed that post. And those kids are ridiculously cute!
