three things I wrote, and a great pair of shoes

Since it appears that fall is never coming to Oklahoma (next week’s “cold front” will apparently bring temperatures in the 60s — that is NOT A COLD FRONT, people) I decided that this would be a good time to go pick up winter coats for my kids. Because you just never know when suddenly you will need a fleece lined jacket! Or a down filled puffy coat!

Also, in case you’re not aware, Old Navy is having a big outerwear sale (all their coats are half off in store, although not all of them are marked down that much on line — just as a point of information; you’re welcome).

Old Navy also has some super cute shoes, if you’re in the market for cute embellished peep toes. Which I may or may not be, at some point, possibly. We’ll see.

My day was not all shopping (although I followed up the winter coat buying with new glasses for Charlie, which cost A FREAKING FORTUNE, of course). I wrote some things too! Because that’s what I do.

At BlogHer, I’m wrapping up the best plus-size fashion blogs. Do you have a favorite? Please share!

At the Butterball blog, you can see Rita’s husband carving a turkey at my house.  A turkey, by the way, that we fried in my garage. No kidding.

And at The Working Closet, we’re getting crafty. In the make-things-at-home way, even! Well, I’m not, but other people who are more talented than I am are totally getting their crafty on.

Go, read, comment. And seriously, get those shoes. They’re so cute.

  1. I soooo wish I could wear shoes like that to work. But OSHA demands closed toes. Ugh. Makes it even harder to find cute summer shoes for work.

  2. Because we need new glasses and needed them CHEAP, we tried online and have been exceedingly happy with the results. www.zennioptical.com. They have those frames that can be twisted and recover their shape. This doesn’t mean that they can withstand multiple crushings under the backside of a 230 lb man, but other than that they withstand a lot of abuse.

  3. oh NO. shopping enabler you are! off to old navy i go..
