the storm that wasn’t, and the week that will be

The Blizzard of ‘07 was a bust; instead of the predicted, nay guaranteed, ten inches of snow we had more like ten flakes (and a day of not-quite-freezing rain). Bottom line: SCHOOL IS BACK IN SESSION.

Thank god.

Wade asked tonight if I wanted to meet him for lunch one day this week, and I said no! not this week! because I have a million things to do! like get a new watch band and find the paint for the master bathroom and wash the millions of towels we have been using to wipe our grimy shoes off and . . .

And he laughed and said, yes that watch band is going to take you ALL WEEK.

It’s an odd size watch, you know. It could take a while.

  1. hahaa, odd little errands CAN take grotesque amounts of time though. Apparently after waiting in line for an hour I had to make an appointment a week later, which may or may not solve my problem. All this just for my grade transcript…

:) then again, you could get lucky and find the watch strap the first place you look.

  2. Enjoy your time!! A watch band can be a tricky tricky thing.

  3. And while your out looking for watch bands you may decide to browse around the shops a bit. That could certainly take all week.

  4. OOH y’know that the Old Navy has the clearance section an additional 50% off now…

  5. I think we got your snow … that’s okay … you all deserve a break. LOL! We got about 7 inches yesterday.

Have a good week … you KNOW you’re behind when you’d rather wash towels than be treated to a lunch you don’t have to make … or clean up!

    Good luck getting caught up!

  6. enjoy your free time!

I can stretch out simple errands into 2 hours of quiet time. The grocery store & pharmacy & health food store people all know me far too well.

  7. Sometimes a free lunch just isn’t worth giving up the quiet me time you will get in it’s place. Enjoy it!

  8. School’s back in? What? I’m too jealous of your free time to really be able to grasp anything else.

  9. Wheeeeee! Yay for school! We got four inches of snow late Saturday night/early Sunday morning and had a glorious time playing in it until it started drizzling freezing rain. I was hoping for at least an hour delay this morning, not outright school cancellage, mind you, just a delay. So I could sleep in. Because I COULDN’T STOP READING MY BOOK last night.

ANYway. Sophie’s home sick but since she’s the easy one, I don’t mind.

  10. For us the snow started right on schedule, and was falling thick and steady for about two hours- enough time to get an inch of accumulation- then it just stopped.

I didn’t want the snow but I felt cheated all the same.

  11. JRM, I also felt cheated! Because we got ICE but not SNOW! What is that?

    Sheesh.
