the first thing I did was call Wade
We ran a few errands this afternoon, and since the gas light on my car has been on since yesterday, I stopped to fill up. And as I was pumping the $2.97 per gallon regular unleaded into my car, the man came out of the 7Eleven and changed the price on the sign.
To $3.09.
And EVERY SINGLE PERSON at the pumps whipped out their cell phones to call someone and report what was happening.
God bless the cell phone.

DH called me on his way into work this morning to report that Lukoil had upped the price from 2.88 to 3.19. I’ll admit I made him go out the other night and fill me up for the week when it was still 2.57. And aren’t you *not* supposed to use cell phones at the gas station?

OH MY!
I do not get how they can change the price during one 24 hour period.
I am proud to say I have not driven anywhere today. I have no idea what the prices have jumped to today around here.
Great previous post.

Is it terrible that I now flip all gas stations the bird and mutter some really nice Christianly phrase such as “punk a$$ b*tches!” as I pass by?

Every time it goes up, it makes me glad I got rid of my ecological disaster. That would have been a $77 plus fill up in that beast.

We are actually looking for a new car, and the choices are–ready for this?–another Honda Accord, or . . . a Ford Explorer.
And we have talked long and hard about lifestyle choices and this and that–and today, Wade called and said, ‘I think we might want to go with the Accord.’ Because otherwise WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BUY GROCERIES.
I’ll keep you posted.

Were you able to get the cheaper price since you were already pumping the gas?
On the way to New York (we’re here, safe and sound) we saw fluctuations in price from $2.97 to $3.50 per gallon.
Ack.
We were driving to save money.

I WAS able to get the cheaper price, and I was happier about it than it probably warranted (as I saved only about $1.40). Then we went to Target and I spent $12.00 on organic milk! Ha ha ha!
Stupid health food for the kids.
Glad to hear that you are safe–get ready to party! You know that Saturday is Wade’s and my anniversary, don’t you?
Well it is. We won’t be going anywhere because all our money is going to fill up the cars.

How about a ford focus station wagon or M&Co’s Volvo wagon? Yeah, that’s hot. Or was that YOU and the wagon?
Happy early anniversary to you both. I fully expect to cry like a big fat baby when I get back and read your blog.

Our car dilemma is this: Wade is 6′5″ and has trouble finding a car with enough leg and head room. And then there is the whole issue of anyone EVER sitting behind him. Which will happen.
We’re leaning toward another SUV (we have a crappy Honday Passport, which sucks) for various reasons–room for Mutant Wade, the optional third seat for extra kids, space to haul stuff. But maybe not this week. Or any time soon.
