Summer Vacation: Day One

Or, Roll Out the Drinks Cart, STAT!

So here we are, on vacation. Just me and the boys. So far, it’s going well; we watched Sesame Street in our pjs this morning, had coffee at Starbucks (still in our jammies), went to the Dollar Store to stock up on pool toys (STILL in our jammies), met Daddy and Mimi for lunch (dressed, finally), came home to our uber clean house, napped, and watched Bob the Builder on PBS (okay, so we’re a little TV heavy–it’s raining, so our options are limited). And now it’s nearly 3:00 and I’m still sober! And not yelling! So far, this summer is a success! Hooray!

Just twelve weeks to go!

Where IS that corkscrew???

  1. I admire your plan for the summer. Some days I don’t even like my kids very much and can’t imagine spending all day every day with them.

I’ve actually been feeling guilty that I don’t have anything planned for the BoyChild this summer. The GirlChild is older and easier to plan for so she’s pretty well taken care of but the BoyChild is at that difficult age, he’s not potty trained, his attention span is about three seconds and the only thing he really cares about are cars and trucks!
