self esteem? what’s that?

25 November 2006
Everyday red shoes.

Charlie: Mama, I shared my snack with Henry!

Me: I know, buddy. That was nice.

Charlie: Yeah. I’m the nicest person in our family.

Henry: He is, you know.

  1. Now I know I want a second baby.

  2. “He is, you know.” I think this quote thereby nominates Henry for equal status. Don’t know what it says about you and Wade, though…

  3. Holy crap. Do you just rock at EVERYTHING?

My kids are like, “I don’t want him for a brother!”
“No, *I* don’t want HIM for a brother!”
    “Well you’re just dead!”
“Well you’re just dead and stinky!”

God help me. Whatever you’re doing, keep at it girl… it’s amazing.

  4. Karyn, RIGHT before this exchange, they were trying to kill each other with the headphones from Henry’s Leapster. The whole idea of the snack was to distract them before someone lost an eye.

    Or worse.

  5. Good to know that kindness is recognizable among siblings! :-)

  6. So sweet!
