NaBloWhatNow?

We took the kids to Turkey Bingo at their school tonight, because nothing says Catholic School like Bingo Night (with the priest calling the numbers and everything!). They had a great time, and Henry won TWICE! Note to self: have the boy buy my lottery tickets next time. Apparently he has The Gift.

Despite the fact that it was Turkey Bingo, we did NOT come home with a turkey. In a freak twist of fate, Henry managed to win both times in the Kids’ Bingo round. And — AND! — he happily agreed to let Charlie have the second prize.

Isn’t that nice? Too bad they both chose crappy light-up swords that will be broken before lunch tomorrow. But still! So nice.

This afternoon we had an impromptu playdate with my Lovely Neighbor, which evolved from my children hanging over the fence and calling lovingly to her son, and then inviting themselves into her yard to play. But she is lovely and also was desperate for someone to entertain her kid, so it worked well.

And she won my eteral love when I was moaning about Turkey Bingo and how I was wishing that maybe ONE kid could start acting a LITTLE sick so I could stay home instead of going with them, because she said, with a completely straight face, “You need to take your friend Flaskie with you.”

We are never moving away. And I am forbidding the neighbors from moving. Do you hear that, Lovely Neighbor? No moving!

And now my iBook’s battery is dying, so may I redirect you to today’s shoes, which are here?  With Insightful Commentary, even!  Of course.

  1. Flaskie? Ha! Love that.

I can’t wait until they develop a gin and tonic implant. Happy times ahead.

  2. It is good to be lucky.

  3. I like your neighbor. A lot. She reminds me of my neighbor who introduced me to the Buddha’s Hand Martini. Good times…

Congrats on the bingo wins. Hope the boys enjoy their spoils for more than just a day!

  4. I loved this post - we so need some turkey bingo here in Jersey - and neighbors who enjoy their “Flaskies!”

  5. So glad you have those neighbors. They are hard to come by.

  6. I like your shiny, blurry shoes.

  7. My friend Flaskie is more of a family member. We’re THAT close.

  8. I need new neighbors!
