I’m on vacation, but look what I’ve left you!

No, it’s not a sink full of dishes and a dirty bathroom (although if you sneak into my house you might find those, too). It’s a contest!

Or really, a giveaway, since all you have to do to enter is leave a comment. SO EASY.

The very nice people at PeaceLoveMom have offered to give one lucky Friday Playdate reader a supercool tee from their line. I like these tees for a couple of reasons: the graphics are great, the colors are lovely, and the sentiment is cheery and positive without being overly saccharine. Also Kate Gosselin was wearing one on Jon & Kate Plus 8 and it was so CUTE! Who can resist?

PeaceLoveMom’s tees are made of soft jersey cotton, and come in a nice range of styles. They offer tanks and thermal tees, too, as well as hats and kid and baby tees.

And we all know how important it is to have a great tee. Or five.

Want to win one of THESE great tees? I can make that happen! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post; you have until midnight on Saturday, July 12. Tell me why you need a PeaceLoveMom tee. Be pathetic, be funny, be honest — the winner will be drawn at random, but it can’t hurt to make me laugh. Right? Right.

Want to make SURE you get a tee? Order one between now and July 31 and PeaceLoveMom will cover the shipping. Order code FRIDAYPLAY on any order over $20.00. Very nice!

Okay, ready? Go!

  1. I need one because they are adorable! I’ve been wanting to find the perfect “mom” tee for awhile now. Looks like I have a few choices from PeaceLoveMom! I’d love to win one.

  2. A girl can never have too many t-shirts. The thermals look cozy, too!

  3. Because I’m still nursing at 8 months and my boobs don’t fit into any of my old clothes!! I miss my tees!

  4. Peace Love Mom…statements or reminders? I’d love a shirt to wear while I ponder!

  5. I want one because you are the fashion guru. If you say that I need one of these, then who am I to argue?

    (Plus, they are adorable!)

  6. I’d like one because I spilled salad dressing on my favorite T-shirt last week and it just won’t come out.

  7. I would love one because I’ve given up on laundry and I’m just throwing the dirty clothes away! ;-)

  8. I want one as I keep entering these web contests and I NEVER WIN.

  9. i’d love a new t-shirt because for once, i’d like to be the one getting new clothes, not just the kids…

    plus their cute!

  10. It doesn’t really matter if I win since one of my girls will just filch the tee out of my drawer to use as a sleep shirt.

    But . . . whatever . . . enter me anyway.

  11. I don’t need a new t-shirt. Nope. I don’t. I LOVE wearing my stained tees that haven’t been replaced since I was breastfeeding. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. And even if I WAS to win a new tee shirt, which will probably happen because I AM the luckiest person in the world, I wouldn’t wear one of those shirts, because I refuse to wear cute tee shirts on principle. I am a mom to two small children and should look frumpy at all times.

(All kidding aside, please enter me. And yes, rest assure I have replaced my milk stained tees. But I have nothing as cut as those, that’s for sure.)

  12. Well…I am sitting here in a shirt that I have had since before my son was born (7+ years)…whadda ya think? Do I need one?

  13. I’d like to have a t-shirt as cute as all of the ones that my kids have.

  14. Because all my t-shirts have little stains on them. Sadly, not from my any of my four children, but because I’m a slob.

  15. I need one becasue I have too many solid-colored T-shirts. I need some decorative T’s in my life!

  16. I want one because some days I have to remind myself “I asked for this. I asked for this.”

  17. I’m not even a mom and I totally want one. That’s how cute they are.

  18. after the fit thrown by my almost 4 y.o. as we were leaving church (she’s only still here bc God was in the house), i could use the lucky mom shirt…to remind myself…over and over…

  19. If you say they are cool then they must be cool… right!? I am a long time reader of your blog but I am delurking just for this contest.

  20. I need one because I have been living out of boxes for over two months while our house is being remodeled. I have been wearing the same 6 shirts over and over and over and over and over and over again. It’s pathetic! Whine.

  21. Sweet! A giveaway! Score! Enter me, pick me, choose me… I’ll pay it forward.

  22. I love your site and what a cute t-shirt.

  23. I need a ‘Lucky Mom’ T-shirt because I am a mom who needs to get lucky.

  24. Oooh! I love those shirts. I’m slowly building up a good supply of shirts after purging all the too short ones.

  25. I would love to win it because I’ve been chanting for PEACE since Vietnam, and those “fathers of our nation” haven’t understood: War is not healthy for children and other living things.

  26. I need one because my boobs are huge. What? That is totally a reason. I had a baby five weeks ago and everything I own is either a tent or too small. I don’t want to buy anything because the baby is five weeks old. These girls won’t last forever, but it’d be nice to have something cute in the mean time.

  27. I wanna get lucky! Enter me!

    ….wait….

That sounds not quite right (if you have your mind in the gutter).

Ok, how ’bout…PICK ME! I wanna win!

(and I just accidentally typed ‘wine’ so you probably can guess what kind of weekend I’ve been having. When does camp start?!)

  28. Pick me bc I just bought a house and will be too poor to buy any clothes for many months to come!

  29. I love their stuff. The cantaloupe colored tees are my fave.

  30. I need a cool mom tee because I have been working very hard to get rid of this “mommy” weight and I am finally starting to see results! I need one as a reward! Plus I need it because my kiddos have all these cool tees and we need to match!

  31. OOOH, pick me, pick me! I am due to have my fourth in 3 weeks, and I haven’t gotten anything cute or new since staying at home with my first 5 years ago. All my t-shirts have holes or stains and I never get anything new for myself because I feel guilty spending money on me, when the kids ALWAYS need something. Whine….sob…poor me…WAH :)!

  32. I am a new reader but still had to enter; those shirts are CUTE!

I would like to win because for once I would like to have a shirt that is cuter than my daughters!

  33. Oh, cute shirt!
    I need one because…

Okay, I don’t NEED one. Is it enough that I WANT one?

  34. Ooh, cute shirts! Lets see— I need one because sometimes I need a reminder that I’m a lucky mom! Yes, they’re great kiddos, but come on- can’t they just be quiet for a little bit??? Besides- I’m starting nursing school clinicals this fall and I have a feeling all I’ll be wearing for the majority of my day will be scrubs, and this is much cuter!

  35. I need one because I’m having a tough time at work right now and being a mom and having a wonderful family is what’s getting me through it all! Plus, so cute!

  36. I need one because I want one!!!

  37. Thank goodness you’re choosing randomly, because I think everyone else has been more witty than I can be right now. But these tees are super cute and I think it would remind me that I AM lucky. Especially when my kids are fighting. Hmmm, maybe I need the “peace love mom” one since I have to intervene like the U.N. in the sibling wars.

  38. I need one because I am the mother of a just graduated from high school 18 year old who thinks he no longer has to follow the rules of my house.

  39. I need one cuz, well, I just do. How’s that for an answer? No really, I’ve lost weight and am in need of some cute new shirts. And besides, if Kate Gosselin has one… that’s good enough for me!

  40. I need one because 7 months post baby I am still wearing my plain old maternity t-shirts from target. I know I need to go shopping, but with 2 under 2 when do I EVER get the time.

  41. Hmmm. Well, I’d be thrilled to win one of those t-shirts because a.) I’m an ardent Friday Playdate fan AND I LET YOU PUBLISH PHOTOS OF MY PATHETIC WARDROBE on Friday Style last September–isn’t that enough, right there?! and also b.) I once wrote an essay for The Mothers Movement Online called “Who Are You Calling ‘Lucky’?” so clearly I need a shirt that, well, calls me lucky. And then there’s c.) the fact that for the past three to six months my daily life home full-time with a high-maintenance preschooler and the world’s surliest toddler has been an exercise in resisting the impulse to poke my own eye out with a stick so, you know, I could definitely benefit from the pick-me-up of a cheery-colored, happy-slogan-proclaiming reminder of all things peace, love, and mom-centric.

    Right?

  42. I need one badly, because while shopping last week my 11 year old said “mom, why don’t they sell the kind of clothes you wear”. I asked what he meant, and he said “you know, old t-shirts of dad’s and ripped shorts”. Yeah. I need a new t-shirt!

  43. One of these shirts would definitely up my “hip mommy” factor.

  44. Well, I believe I DESERVE one of these oh-so-cute-and-kinda-sexy-even t-shirts because of the horrific case of ‘mommy brain’ that I have been afflicted with ever since giving birth to my two gorgeous sons…which has caused me to do a number of not so bright things, such as (most recently) leaving the two brand new and much needed fans on the cart in the parking lot at Superstore and driving away without them; driving up to Tim Horton’s and trying to order from the garbage can, rather than the ‘ordering post’ (what on earth are those things called??) and giving two 30-ish fellows the best laugh of their day; rear ending the lady in the brand new Ultima at about a half mile an hour as I craned my neck around to read the sign about summer camps and my foot slipped off the brake pedal ($900 for her ‘dimpled’ bumper, that one cost me)…I could go on, but there’s not enough space on this page…..

  45. I’m going through my closet and tossing the not-worn-in-a-year clothes, and I sure could use a cool tee to fill in a gap!

  46. I need one because I just finished losing all my “baby weight” (ok, I adopted all 3, but I still gained about 20 lbs in 4 years). And now I need all new clothes! I got rid of all my too big stuff, and my closet is severely empty!

  47. I need one so I can look down and remind myself that my 22yr old college student who has moved back in with us in our 1200 sqft {use to be empty nest} is still my greatest blessing and the person besides my husband who still can put a smile on my face even if our home now has a funky smell I can not get rid of!

  48. They really are cute t-shirts…something for me instead of the kids…it’d be nice!!

  49. Because I never win things and hopefully I’m going to be a mommy soon!

  50. I need a new T because I think all of mine are 5+ years old and look it! Thanks for the contest!

  51. I would LOVE to have one of these T’s because I am 7 months pregnant with my 2nd child and even though I have been the skinny chick my whole life - nothing fits over my belly right now that doesn’t make me look like 1) a human sized insect (big body. little stick legs & arms) or 2) a Laura Ingalls Wilder style creme puff. - Which is exactly how I looked at my sister’s 1st wedding, come to think of it.

Hope you’re enjoying the vacay, Susan!

  52. Oooh… I want one. Or two. So cute and so true — all moms are lucky!

  53. PS- Another good reason that I need a free cute T is that I live in NJ and my property taxes just went up 40% to $6500.
    It’s a 1275 sqft house.
I will not be able to buy myself new clothes for, oh, about 10 more years.

While I’m at it - ANYBODY WANNA BUY A HOUSE IN NJ?

    (:

  54. Ohhhh I would love a cute new t shirt!

And reading the previous comment I’m really glad I don’t live in NJ ouch.

Hope you are having a great vacation!

  55. Those are too cute!

I would love to win one because I live in a house will all boys… As do you so you know what I mean…

  56. I need a new t-shirt because I’m due in a month and I’m tired of my maternity clothes but I can’t buy anything new because I’m due in a month. This way I can stare at a cute tee in my closet and pretend I have nice things to wear.

I’m also glad I don’t live in NJ right now. Or at least am not paying taxes there.

  57. I would just ADORE one of these shirts! As a stay-at-home mommy, lord knows I can’t justify $38 for a t-shirt, even if it is AWESOME! I hope I win!!! :-)

  58. gotta say, i’m lovin’ the hats since i’ve been a hat mom lately. although i do adore the cantalope live, love, laugh tee. frankly though, i’d love to get any of them as a gift!

  59. If I win maybe my daughter would tolerate being seen with me in public!

  60. With three boys ages 5 and under, I’ll take any little bit of peace I can get…even if it is only written on my tshirt!

  61. Susan- I love your site! I’ve been reading it for years. But… I am hopeless at dressing stylishly. I keep hoping you will rub off on me. I NEED a t-shirt. Honestly, I don’t own a single tee-shirt. I started boycotting them in high school when everyone wore tee shirts daily. I’ve been wearing polo’s for years. I’d love to try out a tee that fits correctly. (Not the baggy, frumpy boy tee’s of my teen years.)

  62. I need the shirt because I am about to be a first time mommy (due September 28)and will not be able to buy myself anything new and great for awhile. PLUS my 30th birthday is on July 11th and that would make a GREAT late bday surprize.

  63. i need one because i’m 30 wks prego and need something cute to compensate for my huge cankles. Love your blog!

  64. my husband is sick of my wearing his clothes!

  65. If I were lucky to have win one, I would need an XXL due to my belly and my inability to wear anything in my closet.

  66. I would love to have one for myself, but if I win, I will actually give the tee to my sister. Why, because I FORGOT to sign my kid up in camp this week and she is saving me by watching her everyday. Seriously, how do you lose a whole week of summer when planning such things??!! She is totally saving my ass and I want to tell her thanks!

  67. I need one because simply put, I do not own a T!! I honestly do not. I need to understand WHY T’s are so “fad” perfect!

  68. I’m not a naturally funny person, but I am a fun person and I love the peace love mom tshirt. I hope, hope, hope I win!

  69. I need one. I cannot tell you how terrible my shirt selection is right now. Just trust me, I need it.

  70. How cute!!! I’m usually a lurker on your website and have never left a comment, but I’ll definitely leave a comment if it means I may win a cute T!

  71. Seriously? I am in my fourth consecutive year of breastfeeding. I have three daughters and 2 special girls who’ve earned a soft T.

  72. I need one because I’m a new mommy (Emma is almost 4 months old) & seriously, I have no time for shopping! Plus, we watch lots of Jon & Kate Plus 8 on DVR in the mornings & I always love Kate’s t’s.

  73. Cause I’m doing a university course 400 miles from home, staying in res with my 6 year old twins…in a double bed……yes, all three of us…..and my friend who has taken on my dog has reported that said doggie has pood all over his carpet…..carpet cleaning bill……and my ex husband is staying in our house…..do I have any furniture left?…..and I can’t shave my legs properly in the stand up shower…..my belly has too many stretch marks to wear mesh t shirts…..and just maybe a cool t that tells men that I have kids will save me from explaining it…..again.

  74. I like the Lucky Mom 24/7 shirt. Because that is exactly the way I feel. Even when he’s fussy, crying, and frustrating, I feel like the luckiest mom in the world to have my boy.

  75. Mama needs a new shirt!! It’s no longer fair that my 7 year old looks cuter than me(Well at least on the days when she takes my fashion advice.) :)

    Help!

  76. July 12 is my birthday! I’d love to win a t-shirt on my birthday.

  77. Love those. I am all about the cute tshirts!

  78. I just like them, that simple.

  79. Besides the fact that they are super cute tees….I need one bc I’m still wearing my old college shirts. (I won’t tell you how old they are.) The other day my 3 yr old put his finger through a hole in my shirt and said, “Um, mommy. I think you need another shirt.” Seriously.

  80. I love this shirt and as the mom of kids ages 23, 21, and 19 this is the first time in ages that I’ve felt both peaceful and loving in my relationships with all three of them at once…(love always, peace - well, not so much).

  81. I need a shirt because one of my three toddlers have stained every shirt I own. And they are cute.

  82. I need one because I never win anything - and most of my cute shirts have stains on it from a little boy who loves to hug me but often has messy hands.

  83. I need one b/c I just found out I am going to be a mom and I would love to tell my sister (who I will see at the end of Aug) that I am preggers by wearing a “Mom” shirt!!

  84. What mom doesn’t deserve a cute T? Sometimes we need to be reminded that we are lucky and it’s a blessing to have these little smart-talking-eye-rolling-grunting-hearing-impaired-little-hellions in our lives! :)

  85. I need the “Lucky Mom” one because it would help to be reminded of just how “lucky” I am, every time I look in the mirror. I am always, sarcastically, mind you, commenting on my own incredible “Luckiness.” ;)

  86. I want the world to know that I am a ‘Lucky Mom’ because the car accident my son was in on Sunday only fractured his pelvis and shredded his bladder (now repaired) BUT, didn’t kill him!! Thanks, Susan!

  87. Because yesterday I pulled the bottle of bleach didn’t have the cap on off of the top of the dryer and the bleach splashed onto my black t-shirt exactly where one of my humongous (not) boobs was sticking out so that I was wearing a black t-shirt with one white boob.

    Stylish.

  88. Because my family will soon have its first Nephew or Niece and I’d love to start my sister-in-law with a nice “I am Mom hear me Roar!” type of shirt.

Also, because I am trying to have a baby, and when I do…I will steal the shirt back.

    Double the use!

    haha, Thanks!

  89. I need this shirt because I had a baby 5 weeks ago and NOTHING FITS.

  90. I need a PeaceLoveMom t-shirt because I’m naked and it’s freaking the neighbors out.

    :)
    Happy vacation.

  91. Me, me, me, me! Here’s why: a) I’m selling all of my baby girl clothes and baby furniture and baby “stuff” at a garage sale this weekend…sniff, sniff - so I need some PEACE. b) I have a beautiful princess of a daughter who has taken to “revenge peeing and I’m sorry to say pooping” in her brother’s closet when she is pissed at him (pun totally intended) - so I need some LOVE. c) Based on the previously mentioned issues (in addition to a few more)…I look like hell these days and I need the world to know it’s because I am a proud MOM!
Love your blog by the way!

  92. I’m a single mom of three boys. My birthday is tomorrow. Do ya think I’ll get a lot of presents? Maybe some whining and possibly a hug, but not a great T-shirt.

  93. Because I’m 8 mos pregnant and in desperate need of new clothes once this child comes out.

  94. I need one! It’s summer and I am redirecting the ADHD LilBro 20/7 (yup, he sleeps about , oh, 4 hours per night). His behavior is driving us ALL crazy, blesshisheart. I either need to change his medicine or get a script for Xanax in my name.

    :-)

  95. I need, NEED! one of those shirts. I quite smoking about 18 months ago and have packed on about 35 pounds. Not only do I feel so very uncool, I look like a middle aged frump with my ill fitting very non-cool clothes. I think one of those t-shirts would be just the ticket I need to pull me out of my dougnut induced slump.

  96. I could really use one…. I’m in my own little world which has its own time zone as you can see!
Being a mom of 3 teens (YES YOU CAN PITY ME!) has its own set of rules and there are days (and yes there are MANY) that I need to be reminded how lucky a mom I really am….but really I’m a MAD as I am both Mom and Dad to my tribe since the death of their daddy 6 yrs ago.
