I wonder if Oprah ever gets this sick?

So I have a strep infection–fine. Charlie, not to be outdone, has strep AND an ear infection. Any bets on what Henry will wake up with tomorrow?

This morning I told Wade, ‘There will be no Christmas. I spent all the shopping money on co-pays and prescriptions.’ And for once, I’m not joking.

Because I am Holiday Spirit Impaired this year (can you blame me?), I’ve been trying to think of a fun Friday Playdate game to get me in the mood for gifting. Here’s what I’ve come up with: let’s play Our Favorite Things. You know, like Oprah. Tell me what three or five or ten of your favorite things are. List them in the comments, or make a whole post at your site (but tell us if that’s what you do, so we can all read your list). There are no rules about what to list–what are your favorite things? And I swear, as soon as the germs in my house go away, I will come back and tell you about my favorite things (right now the list includes fast-acting antibiotics, Tylenol, and my sweats, none of which are very exciting). Happy Christmas!

Now get cracking.

    * amazon.com because it makes christmas shopping so much easier.
    * food. give me anything related to food and i will like it.

  2. Three things to give as gifts or three of my favorite posessions?

  3. head over to my site for my list. It’ll be worth it. Because I am worldly and no matter when and where we meet, you will like me.

  4. Your call, Misfit. I’m all about the selfish holiday this year, what with my I Deserve Something Nice Dammit attitude, and Oprah always does that thing where she GIVES things that SHE wants to have.

And Brooke, hooray for the links! How fun!

  5. okay, my list is up.

    sorry you’re still feeling cruddy.

  6. thanks to brookeraymond for those sites and so sorry you’re having the sickies. yuck. i’m having the chronic tensions but so far, the strep is in check.

    sending my best!

  7. Can I just say “ditto” to Felicity’s list?? Because she came up with way better things than I could think of… and because she’s right… I like her.

  8. I played.

  9. Oh, this is the best idea EVER. Except I don’t think I’ll be able to stop. If I have to pick my ten favorite things, though, they are:

    -Cats’ tummies
    -Being given flowers
-Shops that are only dedicated to kitchen stuff. Oh my god, kitchen porn!
    -Orangina
    -Men in suits. And tuxes.
    -TJ Maxx
    -My iBook
-Good cheese with fig jam on crusty bread
-The smell of libraries and bookstores
-The moment you go through the doors of the airport into the lounge where someone you can’t wait to see and haven’t seen forever is waiting for you.

  10. I’ll play…

    - Wheels O’ Wisdom (Perhaps you can take this to the humorless doctor the next time you go and show him that other people have a sense of humor about medical stuff, too!)
    - Macs. Not big ones. Shiny silver ones that sit on your lap.
    - Straw sippy cups. Best. Thing. Ever.

  11. I will post something tomorrow, I promise!

  12. Okay, my list is posted. I listed things I have or like to give as gifts.
I hope you are feeling better, so you can enjoy your chips.
