Laundry list, because the ACTUAL laundry is taking over my house and must be dealt with ASAP.
1. I am going to hire my father to come edit for me at my five million various blogs, because ONLY HE caught the ginormous typo in my last post. I have left it there for your reading pleasure (and also to test you because COME ON PEOPLE!). Good luck!
2. HeatherB is gone, after two days of living the Suburban Mommy life, which consisted of brunch out, a manicure and pedicure, a trip to SuperTarget, watching Backyardigans with the kids, Christmas shopping at a local antiques store, a playdate with my fabulous next door neighbor, and dinner and drinks with Shana and Whoorl. Feel free to imagine that EVERY SINGLE DAY of my life is JUST LIKE THAT.
3. We’re celebrating the Winter Solstice with a high of 67. Chris, that’s for you.
4. I got my hair cut this week. Somehow my stylist heard “leave the length but do lots of texture” as “MULLETMULLETMULLET.” It’s fine right now but in a couple of weeks I will look like an extra from Talladega Nights. If you live in the Oklahoma City Metro and have a stylist you really REALLY love, shoot me an email because I’m looking. Again. Dammit.
5. I ran into my friend Laura at the grocery last weekend; she said, “I have a new favorite mascara, thanks to you!” And that reminded me that I have something to TELL you about the L’Oreal Lash Out mascara! And then I forgot again! And now I am remembering! I’m still loving the Lash Out, BUT — the first tube I had dried out awfully fast (maybe because I didn’t QUITE get the cap on all the way one day, but still) and it was smudging a little, probably because I’ve been mixing a teeny bit of eye cream with my concealer. So I’ve switched to the waterproof formula, which I’m very very happy with, and I’m screwing the cap on Extra Tight every day.
And I think that’s everything! Or nothing, depending on your perspective. Either way, I’m all done now because that laundry’s not doing itself, apparently.

You mean where you spelled “sequel” with an “A?”

Dude. I never point out errors, because that goes against my “positive comment” policy
As for mascara, I found the holy grail.
Lancome. I use the CIL booster and then Hypnose. AMAZING!
Merry Christmas

Congrats to your Dad!
Our local daily paper had a huge glaring error the other day - so huge my son [7] wanted to use hubby’s cell phone to call to complain. Title read along the lines of “Perry, Rice Score For Sharks” and the article, written by AP, started off with something akin to “It was a sad day at the Shark Tank as the Sharks lost another game at home.”
Luck with the laundry … mine needs to be done also.

I saw it, looked at it for awhile trying to figure out why I knew it was wrong, thought maybe *I* was wrong and it was right, then figured that it was, indeed, wrong but by that point I just gave up.

Susan! One of the girls I was with last night told me you had this blog! Score! I love it! You are an exceptional writer and damn funny as well.
As far as the hair dresser goes, I go to Toni and Guinn’s on 44? and Western. She is excellent, although may not be taking new clients, tell her you know me and see if that helps!
It was good seeing you at Deep Fork last night for those few minutes! Blogger convention…woot!!

Sequel….sequal….bah, we knew what you meant.
I read and read my posts, then publish, then re-read one more time and THEN I FIND THE TYPOS. What’s with that? Grrrr.

I sure hope, after all the effort in finding a good mascara, that you are not in one of the states trying to ban mascara because of mercury content. When I saw it on the news, I thought of you, and then I thought “They will never get away with that. They could ban girdles, or mullets, anything but mascara! Come on.”

Caught your typo after you told us to look…to be fair, I have a really annoying habit of not reading headers, headlines or bylines in the newspapers. Then, I always go back to check to see who wrote it and. Bad (and dumb) habit. Love the mascara, though and I’m spreading the word in Illinois!

I trust your authority (in shoes and otherwise) so much that I decided I had always spelled “sequel” incorrectly and your way must be the right way. Because you do haz mad skills.

Toni @ Guinn’s salon is the very very best. She would never mullet-ize you. It’s takes a long time to get worked in to her schedule, though - so call now.

Well, I’m hesitant to recommend my stylist to you, mainly because I just moved (back home) to OKC and only just found her myself. Although the first cut was very good, what if it was beginners luck and she actually is terrible? And I sent you to her? I think the guilt would be too much to bear.

I thought something looked fishy in the title. Oh well. 67 yesterday? It was like 2 in Tulsa. I’m sorry about your hair. I hope you can find someone to help you. If you feel like driving to Stillwater for a cut, I can recommend a good place. And then you can go antiquing. Just an idea.

Huh. Took me three reads to find it. At first I said “Ah, that’s because it was in the TITLE and I was looking in the TEXT,” but that’s no excuse, because I love your titles, and actually READ them.
But you know, there’s an even better way to celebrate the solstice, and it’s for WORLD PEACE!! Or maybe you did that, too, but aren’t telling us because this is a family blog…

Well, that isn’t a bad typo.
I am in the midst of prepping for christmas holiday. My cats are grooming each other to be pretty.

Every time I come to Oklahoma I have Carl Wayne cut my hair at his place on Western Ave. He’s the best. He’s been there forever and he or one of his girls can do the job and make you laugh at the same time. He’s a good friend too. Tell him I sent you.
