I still carry my baby way more than I can. I told him the other day I was going to have to stop soon, and that made me sad. His reply melted my heart. "I know, because I'm your baby and I'm getting sooo big."

I don't remember when I stopped carrying my first child. I guess at 2 when her sister was born. I do recall that I had to stop carrying my second child because she was so tall that I could not see past her head. My son is the youngest at 5...he has 10- and 12-year-old sisters. I savored everything about his babyhood and toddlerhood. I liked carrying him as he was relatively easy to carry...not much fidgeting. The problem at 2 he was as tall as and as heavy as a 3-4 year old. So, I soldiered on for another year, but by 3 I was done. He was too cumbersome. I was sad. I missed snuggling his neck as we walked somewhere.
