grace in small things: fourteen (today sucked, but I have good friends and good music and good wine)

1. Melody Gardot.  Also Wade, for introducing me to Melody Gardot, via his superfabulous new stereo speakers.  (Him: They’re beryllium! Me: Eh, whatever.  She’s great!)

2. Beauty products that smell like citrus.

3. Corn pudding at Iron Starr.  ZOMG so delicious.

4. An industrial size bottle of Barefoot Pinot.  Because it was that kind of Monday.

5. My husband sending his very! first! text message! to Chris.  It took him a good five minutes to type it out; she responded: “Kudos to you, Wade, for joining us in this millenium!”  He laughed.

(Later she texted me to ask if he was going to send her a letter next.  “In one of those envelope things? With those stamps you lick?”  He laughed at that, too.)

Make the world a better place by finding Grace in Small Things.

  1. I l.o.v.e. citrus. Citrus body wash, citrus perfume, citrus kitchen soap, certainly citrus bath cleaners, freshly peeled oranges lingering in the air in my office…sigh. Spring and summer WILL return…someday.

  2. Beauty products, food and wine…that’s you finished with GIST then? I mean what else is there?

  3. Sounds like you’ve had some tough days recently. I hope today is beter!

  4. Ha! Now I’m the only grown-up who doesn’t yet know how to text. Damn you, Wade!

  5. Isn’t wonderful that the habit of finding the grace can help you find them even when the days suck? Hope you have better days ahead.
