I'm starting to feel more and more like at-home motherhood and homemaking is my career right now--in the sense of something I work hard at and take pride in and want to do well--and so it means something to me to be able to take care of two munchkins and also keep the house fairly nice and cook meals and do all the extra things that crop up like mending the buttons and harvesting the rhubarb and baking fruit cobbler. Which I am aware sounds really retro and unfeminist (maybe?), but that's not how it feels to me. Well, maybe retro, in a good way, but not unfeminist.
