In the car on the way home from soccer practice last night.
Henry: Jesus is the light.
Charlie: I did NOT know that.
Henry: I just learned that yesterday. From Mrs. Pierce.
Charlie: Who is Mrs. Pierce?
Henry: She teaches genuflection.

Our Catholic schools latest is “are you being the light?” As in WWJD? When they are misbehaving. So Miss 9, who can be quite confusing at times, runs around the house yelling, “I am the light, I am the light!”

Teaching genuflection … better than the kid who asked, “When do I do the bow with the funny arm movements?” and then proceeded to go into a karate stance because he’d remembered do do a bow, but forgot what came afterwards.
[no, not mine!]

That’s hilarious! You know Jack goes to a jewish preschool (even though we are methodist) and last week he insisted we celebrate Rosh Hashanna. He even recited a hebrew blessing as we ate our apples and marshmallows. Should have been honey and apples but since Jack doesn’t like honey he picked another sweet.

My kids are really missing out. And to think they could be learning about Jesus and the light and are instead coping with the Dragon Lady

Although it seems I’ve been under a rock, I just found your site recently (tonight) (through the “What Did You Wear to Work” flickr stream) and am catching up, so to speak.
Cute conversation!
(Also, adorable wardrobe, too.)
