home again, home again, jiggety jig
I feel like I have been traveling for months; I’ve never been so happy to see the inside of my closet because it means that I will not have to get dressed out of a suitcase for one more day.
We spent Thanksgiving in Houston with my sister-in-law and her family, and we had a huge time. Henry and Charlie are currently mad that NONE of their cousins live close to them and they want to know why we can’t just take a road trip every weekend to visit family. The answer, of course, is because it would kill me.

under the wire

Steve Madden silk ballet flats, worn for a Friday playdate with Shana
There should be some rule that NaBloPoMo should NEVER start on a Thursday; I mean, here it is, day TWO, and I’m already reduced to posting pictures because I’ve got nothing to tell you.
NOTHING! Do you hear me? Nothing at all.

Are you DYING to know how my trip to Sephora went? ARE YOU?!?
You should be! Because Sephora? Meh. Not impressed.
(That sound you hear is HeatherB and Whoorl falling over dead. Sorry, girls.)
The Sephora here in Oklahoma City (upstairs at Penn Square Mall, where Casual Corner used to be, Whoorl) is small, for starters, and doesn’t carry most of what is on their website. Which makes it difficult to scope out product on the internet and then check it out in person. And I am someone who MUST touch the product before I buy. I’m like that. Get over it.

thank you, Heather

Flowers from the incomparable HeatherB, who I miss even more now than I did before.

The view from my office. I am almost inspired to write something fabulous. But not quite.

I’m blaming this randomness on my jaw
My dad is here for the weekend, because you know it’s been four whole days since I went to the airport or made up the bed in the guest room, so clearly it’s time for more company and maybe some travel, too.
Have I mentioned that we’re going to Tulsa tomorrow night? For the PGA tournament? As I write this we’re watching today’s recap, which seems mostly to consist of golfers saying, “OH MY GOD is it ever HOT here” or some variant of that.
Which is mostly what I’ve been saying all day, too. (more…)

if you come to visit me in Oklahoma you will probably be subjected to at least three of these things
1. You will get to listen to me negotiate with my sons about EXACTLY how many Milano cookies they can have for snack. My seven-year-old will use the phrase “suggested serving size” correctly. Twice.
2. We will go to a bowling alley where Henry will disappear twice, both kids will insist that they do NOT want to bowl but want to play video games, and the woman behind the counter will refuse to even acknowledge us.
3. Shana will tell you that she is late because she had to take a pregnancy test because there was an incident with the . . . oh, never mind. Trust me, it will happen. And it will be funny.
