Oh man, homework?!?

I have to admit, I haven't picked up many books other than the reference kind since college graduation. I used to blame it on burnout, but I really don't think I can use that excuse four years later.

I think the last book I read was "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" by Mitch Albom. I watched the TV special and it was okay, I suppose, for a low budget made-for-TV flick. The book made me cry, the show didn't.

I think that there is an unwritten rule that all visual media based on a book must be sub-par to the original text. Case in point: "The Horse Whisperer" and "The Hunt for Red October." Although, the latter movie is still pretty good.

But I digress...

I'll have to check out the McDermott books. Those titles reeled me in.

Totally agree with Jane Austin, although the analytical essays I did are starting to come back and haunt me. I was never good at reading into the symbolism of any written work. What the heck is a "womb tomb" anyway, and how am I supposed to come up with something like that on my own?

Love the new subtitle and profile/mission statement. ;)
